The Collapse of the Indian University Systems

By Sanjay Agarwal

1.Why ?is this happening ?

Our Dumb and Clueless universities teach us today what was needed to be learned 20 years back They do not teach us what is required tomorrow . They have not accepted the truth that in 20 years the requirements of the industries have changed substantially . The world has changed . And teaching methods and tools have changed .

Universities today are not aligned with the requirements the Industry , Teaching methods and Teaching Technologies . These Stoic and Sombre Universities still rely of old books and old knowledge which has been written 10-20-30 years back . Well these books and this old knowledge does not get you jobs anymore .

Out of 15 lac engineering student in India 7-8 lac do not get jobs . Then why study and waste money ? Another 85 lac are graduates are anyway estranged and abandonedb the Industry . The employability of the 10M Graduates is low and less than 1 % .( Estimates )

Remember Pink Floyd and Roger Waters . The iconoclast who had denounced the world education system as being most un-educative in his iconic song ” You are just a brick in the Wall ” .And this song resonated with the world and thousand sand in chorus and this song still does!

If the Universities of the world are not aligned with the requirements of the Industries , then they will never be able train and teach student who could find jobs in the industry .

2. Why ? What is the reason

Our universities have failed to deliver students meaningful and relevant education and simultaneously held them as hostage to the system they have run for centuries .But now this same system looks like a yoke on their back which they are unable pull .

The reason for the above stasis is that our Universities of the world are not aligned with the requirements of the Industries. Universities are therefore unable to design the right courses to train and teach student which could
help students find jobs in the industry .

If students do not get jobs , they will not join Universities and then they will look for other options. This will then
lead to the collapse of the World University System . Currently it is in an existential crisis.

3.Universities are not able to create Jobs , Jobs and Jobs .

If students do not get jobs , they will not join Universities and look for other options. This will then lead to the collapse of the World Education System . Currently it is in an existential crisis.

4. And who is responsible for this Job Failure Syndrome :

Our grand old Universities forever living in their past glory and unable to evolve themselves to be relevant with times . Their fuddy Duddy curriculum looks like a derelict house and now fit to be showcased in Museums and in the curriculum section of vaunted libraries .

Industry requirements for Employee skills have changed substantially but our good’ol universities are still in a state of denial . Our Universities are still basking in the staid curriculums , ineffective pedagogy and teachers and moribund ideological moorings which should have been jettisoned years ago .

Universities are now relic of the past and resonate with past glory and amnesia about the present . They are literally lost both in Time and Space in this giant Knowledge Metaverse .

5 . Read this – Just Shocking !

TCS is not finding employees in the current employed pool of graduates . They have a gap of 80000 employees vacancies to be filled .

Oracle now decides to train 2.00 lac techie in Data Science , AI and Cloud Computing in India as they have given up on the Universities of India are not deliver this TALL ORDER to the IT companies in India.

Can you believe this Man Made Job Calamity . But Unfortunately this is trueIt is irony that we talk non stop about creating jobs but care to DO NOTHING ABOUT THIS
